The GForce Oberheim SEM was created with direct input from Tom Oberheim and Marcus Ryle, a key Oberheim engineer from the 1980s. During the development of the GForce Oberheim OB-E® v2, both Tom and Marcus expressed the need for a software version of the SEM that faithfully replicated its original sound and character. Guided by their expertise, the GForce team worked tirelessly to deliver an instrument that stays true to the legacy of the SEM.

True-to-Life SEM Sound

At the core of the GForce Oberheim SEM are two VCOs offering Pulse and Sawtooth waveforms, two ADS envelope generators, a single LFO, and the legendary Multi-Mode Filter. Every element of the original SEM has been carefully modeled, capturing even the analog imperfections that contribute to its distinctive sound. The result is a virtual instrument that blurs the line between analog warmth and digital precision.
